IEEE-1394 cables are used with many high-speed multimedia devices including camcorders, DVD players, and digital cameras (many of which are already fitted with IEEE-1394 interface.) Differing from USB, the speed of transmission via these cables currently reaches 393mbs, with projected types to exceed to speeds of 800mbs. The max. available cable length is 5M. The total length between connections should not surpass 72M with a maximum of 63 connected devices.
